In 2011 Alpha is going into the 11th year of
presenting its 10 week course at Trinity UMC. The program assists in becoming more
familiar with the Christian Faith, and more particularly developing a better understanding
of Jesus Christ.
The next Alpha course, one of the favorite spiritual ministries that is
offered regularly at Trinity UMC, will begin Thursday, Feb. 3. Normally held on Wednesday
nights, this course will be held every Thursday evening through April 14. Earl Pickens has
graciously offered to serve as cook as each Thursday session begins with a dinner for all

What happens during this 10- week practical introduction to the Christian faith?
Anyone attending this popular class will expect to explore the basics of Christianity in a
relaxing, comfortable environment. In addition to the regular Thursday night gatherings, a
weekend retreat is usually scheduled. As former attendees know, the Alpha course is an
experience where people come together to share a meal, hear a series of video
presentations, and gather into smaller groups to discuss questions that come to mind.
